The Sylvester Finals

Today at 21:00 Vicious and Evil played against Team-Visualize on de_dust2.

Sadly, during this match someone restarted the gameserver for 4 times. This event lead to an investigation which made us kick 3 admins and ban several players. We have been unable to prevent this from happening and seriously regret such abuse. We feel this behaviour is a serious disgrace to those who felt compelled to disturb the match of the two sylvester finalists and we hereby apologize to both teams.

The finalist closed the match in favor for Visualize (16 - 11) and they have been crowned winner of the Sylvester Christmas Cup 2008. We are in discussion with them about the selection of the prices, once they have made their selection, the other prices will be made available for the number 2, vicious and evil. If any of these prices are refused, the price will go to the number 3 with the least counterpoints from the finals.

This event has been a very wise lesson on multiple occassions, from duplicate subscriptions to gameserver abuse. We hope you enjoyed it and believe the winner is still under the thrill of victory.

use of xray updated

We've changed the way we are using xray. After a short period of testing how to work with it, we have now changed our website to facilitate better checking of which players have xray added in their profiles.

You must add your xray ID now to your games! Please go to your account, click add game and add your id to the xray "game".

For all games supported by xray, you are obligated to add the xray ID to your games list. Otherwise you will not show up in the allowance list of these games!

Additionally from now on, each player must be member of your team 1 hour before match start!

Sylvester Finals - outlines

• First round has to be played before 27th of December 24:00.
  
• The second round has to be played before 29th of December 24:00.
  
• The final round has to be played before 30th of December 24:00.

The 2nd round and the the finale must be played on a Digibattles server with a DB admin in the server. This doesn't mean you don't need to record in-eyes! So please post in the chatbox when you are going to play and ask for the ip, port and password of one of the digibattles servers! Not complying to this wish will cancel any played results!

Every player is obligated to use X-Ray. You can read how X-Ray works and what you've got to do here.

Please be aware that we will be requesting demo's at random from every match in the finals! So ensure you have your in-eyes ready for upload. The sourceTv ip and port for each match (which has sourcetv) will be posted on irc by an admin.

X-ray obligatory

From now on all participants, of any event here at digibattles, must be using x-ray anti cheat! You can download, install and create an account over at:

Please start using this anti-cheat measure, not having an account or not using the account will result in an immediate ban from digibattles upon discovery. You can fill in your xray account name: "my account" > "update your settings" > "Xray profile".

TF2 Relaunch Cup - Clan Crack won

Today in 3 hours and 15 minutes the first ever Team Fortress 2 cup in the history of digibattles was held to celebrate the relaunch of our website. Crack! Clan won from MeMento in the finals.

The team leader of Crack stated after winning the finals:

We are happy this event has shown what we are capable of and are interested in keeping TF2 within our portfolio.

Prizes which the Crack! Clan does not need will be moved to the 2nd place MeMento.

Website crash

Today, during a 32 slots 1on1 aim cup; the webserver could not cope with the activity on the website. After a database outage the website had been shut down. With frustration from both the digibattles crew and the players; we took all measures to contact our webhost and fix the problem.

After half an hour of investigation we received the bad news that during a cup the serverload increased dramastically. In dialogue with our webhosting sponsor we decided digibattles.net would remain a risk for his business untill we fixed the pages resulting in a high server load. Therefor the cup of tonight has been removed and our site has been moved to a private dedicated server. Future cups will remain set and can be played, we hope to fix the server load issue as soon as possible. Luckily the private server has only our website and technically is a beast.

user maintenance

I have done some maintenance on the users. All users that had duplicate emails based on the email might have all accounts, except one, removed. If you experience problems while logging in or with a team; please contact me via email (on the staffpage).

I've based the decision on whether your duplicate is removed on the following;

• If in no team, delete first
  
• If leader of a 1 man team (1vs1 team) delete secondly
  
• If not a leader, but in a team, go third

Announcing our new website

Please take a look at the following:

• Fill in your game UID's again
  understand you cannot use a GUID on multiple accounts
  
• Multiple accounts are not allowed! Our methods have been improved to detect this and deny access for those who do not obey.
  
• All awards are removed
  
• All flags are removed
  
• All clan states are reset

You've all been notified about this new upcoming website. And finally it made it to the launch.

Apart from the new chatbox, the addition of 1on1 cups, a public forum and some bug fixes; most of the features from the old system have been revised.

The new site also welcomes two new sponsors; first of all our new headsponsor Clanhost.nl who will be supporting digibattles by providing backup privates for every game! They have also granted our request for a public ventrilo channel, where admins and players can meet.

Our second sponsor comes from a totally different area; Dwprint.be will be providing Digibattles with a number of textile products for our publicity endaevours.

We are grateful for both sponsors.

Please note that the new website will be more stricter on player registration, duplicate accounts and clan status requests.
